Boozing and Cruising

Hi loves!

At the beginning of June, I went on my first trip out of the country since coming home from my incredible three and a half months of living in Spain. This time – it’s vacay!

What is summer without a beachy vacation? This trip consisted of a 7-day cruise on Carnival’s beautiful ship, the Freedom. We left from Galveston, Texas, and then headed to Montego Bay, Jamaica, Grand Cayman and finally to Cozumel, Mexico before coming back to Galveston. I went on this vacation with my mom, sister and nana – girls trip!

Sea Days

I love cruising with Carnival because they are all about having fun! As soon as I got on the ship, I went straight for yummy Guy’s Burgers and a mango daiquiri. What other way is there to start a vacation properly?

Sea days are some of my favorite days on cruise ships. There is so much to do on Carnival ships. There are the obvious eating and drinking of course (which is beyond amazing I must add), but there is so much more! There is so much fun to be had from getting a tan, relaxing in the pool, going to the spa, spending money in the casino, shopping, tea parties, live music, comedy clubs, shows, trivia, karaoke and so much more.

There is never a dull moment on sea days. My personal favorite thing to do is escape away to the back of the boat. I like to grab a pool chair, get comfy with a good book, tan and relax as I watch the waves in the middle of the ocean. It is a picture-perfect way to escape from reality.

Ater a perfect day of relaxing, I absolutely love having an excuse to dress up and go to the dining room for dinner. It is so fun to see everyone all dressed up, especially on elegant night. The best though is if you get a chance to go to the steakhouse. All I can say about the steakhouse is that you better go hungry because their food is beyond incredible.

Montego Bay, Jamaica

Yeah man, there is nothing like the homeland of Bob Marley to get into vacation mode. We decided to take an excursion to Sunscape on this day. It is an all-inclusive resort and spa. All-inclusive means all you can eat and drink – what a good (but dangerous) combo. I spent the day sipping on Bob Marley’s at the swim-up bar in the pool and relaxing by the beach. It was such a great day to wind down and enjoy a beautiful place.

Grand Cayman

Grand Cayman is one of the three Cayman Islands. It is the land of turtles and stingrays (hard pass from me). Instead of booking an excursion, we decided to spend the day going with the flow and walking around the island. Aka, we spent the day shopping. It is the perfect island for shopping and talking to the locals who are the nicest people you will find.

Cozumel, Mexico

I always feel more at home in a country where I can speak their native language, so I loved the chance to be able to speak Spanish again. I have been to Cozumel many times, but I still love it every time I go. On this day, we went on an excursion to Nachi Cocom Beach Club, which is my very favorite place in Cozumel. It is a beautiful all-inclusive on the most relaxing beach. I spent the day sipping on margaritas and eating authentic Mexican food – my favorite combination. I even got to see a beautiful beach wedding – how dreamy!

A week of boozing and cruising and it was officially time to go back home. I had such a fun week on the Carnival Freedom and I cannot wait to go on another cruise.

Where to next?
